Overall, younger people tended to use social networking sites to access daily news, while older age groups preferred radio. Microblogging was least popular source of news among all age groups.
Around 80% of people aged 10-17 and 18-29 used social networking to access daily news. However, this figure decreased significantly with age, falling to approximately 45% among those aged 30-49 and about 35% for people aged 50-64. Only around 20% of individuals aged 65 and over relied on social networking for news.
In contrast , radio was far more popular among older people. About 90% of individuals aged 18-29 used radio, and the percentage remained high for the 30-49 and 50-64 age groups , at around 85%. Even among people aged 65 and above, approximately 80% obtained news from radio . Meanwhile, microblogging accounted for the lowest percentages, ranging from roughly 10% to 20% across all age groups.
