The diagram illustrates the process of recycling glass.
As can be seen that the process of glass recycling is a closed loop and consists of 8 different stages, using different tools and infrastructure. It starts with the collection of waste and ends with the packaging and shipping of new glass products.
At the first stage, used glass are placed in recycling bins. These are then transported to a recycling plant by a truck . After arriving at plant the product are sorted by color and shape. Once sorting is complete, the glass items are crushed into small pieces. In the next stage, the crushed glass is thoroughly washed to remove in purities/dirt. Following this, the cleaned glass in melted in a furnace at a high temperature until it truns into molten glass.
The melted material is then moulded/reshaped and cooled using industrial machinery to create new glass items. Finally, these new glass products are ready for packaging and shipping and can re-enter recycling cycle whe discarded.
