In 1970, UAE was the country with largest proportion of people resiting in the city with 54%. It was closely followed by South Korea which accounted for 41%. Both India and Thailand were far behind compared to arab country with just 19% and 21% respectively.
In 1990, UAE was again taking the lead and it increased almost double its own data in 1970 which was recorded as 74%. Koreans were seen migrating largely from village to city between 70s and 90s, accounting for 74%. Additionally, urbanization in Thailand only increased by 8% and India was still in the last with just 26%.
