Kyoto has occurred as a city with the shortest railway route and has covered the lowest number of passengers each year, whereas city with the busiest trains belongs to Tokyo.
It can be clearly seen that, the initial underground railway was constructed in London in 1863 and the opening train systems was followed by the other four big towns in 19s era, namely Paris (1900), Tokyo (1927), Washington DC (1976), and Kyoto (1981). Two decades after the last launching, Los Angels launched its’ in 2001, making it a town with the newest underground railway compared to others.
Looking further, London not only stood as the first town opening the train system, but also has occupied position as a city with the longest railway’ route at 394 km. Kyoto, nonetheless, has the shortest one, also has served the least annual passengers’ figures, with solely 11 km and 45 million people, respectively. Although Tokyo has a moderate route distance of subway (merely 155 km) and does not has experience as long as London in serving train’s passengers, the figure of people travelling by trains in Tokyo has exceeded all the other towns’, reaching 1927 million each year.
