The table displays the proportion of students who gave positive ratings to five different aspects of a university in 2000, 2005 and 2010.
Overall, such aspects as teaching quality and electronic resources tended to increase in terms of percentage of students giving good ratings; print resources remained relatively high throughout the period, fluctuating slightly, while the range of modules offered, in contrast, tended to decline. Moreover, buildings/teaching facilities as another aspect remained the same.
Looking at the teaching efficiency, the proportion of students giving positive ratings for teaching quality stood at 65% in 2000. After falling negligibly to 63% in 2005, the figure recovered to 69% by 2010. Print resources went through an upward trend as well. 87% of students ranked them positively in 2000, 89% of students did the same in 2005, however the proportion decreased compared to the previous percentage. Electronic resources were viewed positively by 45% of students in 2000, this percentage increased dramatically to 88% of students being surveyed in 2010.
Regarding the range of modules offered for students, 32% of them were positive about this aspect in 2000, but the proportion experienced a fall, reaching only 27% of students responding positively in 2010. Interestingly, there was no change in the percentage of students who ranked building and teaching facilities positively, remaining stable at exactly 77% of students over the whole period.
