The pie chart and the table illustrate the proportion of public transportation used by residents and the reasons why people tend to choose the car in Edmonton.
Overall, it is clear that cars accounted for the biggest proportion, while bus and taxi were equally the least popular among people. Although the table shows that the main reason for using the car was commuting to work, shopping and leisure activities were at the same rate with the least percentage.
Looking at the pie chart, cars made up 45%, followed by LRT(Light Rail Transit) at around one-third of the whole proportion. By contrast, bus and taxi accounted for relatively minor proportions, both at 10% respectively.
Turning to the table, going to work recorded the highest figure, at 55%, whereas business reasons were the second highest at 45%. In addition, taking children to school was slightly lower than business reasons, with a difference of only 5%. Furthermore, shopping and hanging out had the lowest value as a reason for using a car among residents of Edmonton, both at only 10%.
