Dear sir or madam,

I am writing to express my keen interest in taking a short course from your college. Although I checked on website about course related information, I still have some questions which are not mentioned over there.

Firstly, I checked about the syllabus online, but I am not sure about prerequisite for that subject. It would be really appreciated, If you give me more information about the other courses that I need to complete before starting the summer course so I can prepare in advance.

Moreover, college portal specifies the fee about that course, but I want to know that would I have to pay it in installments or only one payment. And, Website did not mention about the method of payment such as cash or credit. If you make me clear about fee structure, It would be really helpful. In addition, I know course would be for four months and I am really interested to learn this, but I will be out of town for fifteen days and would not be able to attend classes. Therefor, I want to know about learning settings that would I be able to attend it online for few days?

Thank you so much for your time and looking forward to hear from you.

Your sincerely,

Ritva

Task Response

The letter appropriately addresses all requirements of the task, asking about course details, fees, and accommodation options. The questions are relevant and sufficiently detailed. There are a few minor areas for improvement. For instance, the letter could directly ask about accommodation options instead of only focusing on course and fee details. Also, the paragraph about being out of town is slightly tangential and could be more concisely integrated or omitted to maintain a sharper focus on the core requirements.

Coherence & Cohesion

The letter is generally organized, but the flow could be improved with clearer transitions between points. Consider using more explicit signposting to guide the reader through your inquiries. For example, start new paragraphs for each main question (course details, fees, accommodation) to enhance clarity.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but there's room to enhance it with more precise and varied word choices. For instance, instead of repeatedly using 'information,' try synonyms like 'details,' 'clarification,' or 'specifications' depending on the context. Also, consider using more formal language suitable for addressing college administration.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The letter contains several grammatical errors that affect clarity. Focus on improving sentence structure and verb tense consistency. For example, rephrase sentences like 'If you make me clear about fee structure' to 'If you could clarify the fee structure for me.' Pay close attention to subject-verb agreement and correct use of articles (a, an, the).
