Dear Sir,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to inform you that I will not be able to start performing my work duties next week, as we planned, due to personal matters. I am incredibly sorry however, I cannot neglect these matters as they are essential for me and my family.
Unfortunately, my great uncle passed away last month because of a heart failure, which has occurred to him unexpectedly in his sleep. The past month my entire family and I have spent mourning and praying for him. And due to the cultural and religious beliefs of our family we cannot start any funeral activities until this week. Traditionally, the funerals of our people take around a week and a half with all the religious procedures. I apologize for causing such inconvenience brought by this unexpected occasion.
If you are still interested in me as an employee for your company, I believe that I will be able to start my job in the course of the next two weeks. Once again, I bring my deepest apologies for my unprofessionalism and discomfort which I may have caused to you.
Feel free to contact me at any time by my email or my personal phone number.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon
Yours sincerely,
Fatima Rustamova
