Dear Sarah,

I hope you are doing well! I have something exciting to share. I am planning a surprise birthday party for David, and I would love to have your help with the preparations.

The party will be held on Saturday, 28th September, at my place on Maple Street, and I am thinking of starting around 7 p.m. so that everyone can come straight after work. Since it is a surprise, we will need to make sure he has no idea until the very last moment.

There are a few things I was hoping you could help me with. First, could you take charge of the decorations? I know you are amazing at creating a fun atmosphere, and I was imagining balloons, fairy lights, and maybe a “Happy Birthday” banner. Second, I could use some support with organising the food. I plan to order a cake, but it would be great if you could bring some snacks or drinks. Lastly, we need to spread the word among our close group of friends, so perhaps you could handle the invitations?

My idea is to go for a “retro” theme since David loves music from the 80s. I thought it might be fun if we asked everyone to dress up in that style. What do you think? Any suggestions you have to make it even more memorable would be wonderful.
