Dear Sir/Madam
Recently, our authorities have announced their plan to increase the quantity of flights by extending our local airport. Moreover, your editorial office is responsible for conducting a survey among the population. For these reasons, I am writing to you, as I am really concerned about that plan. I am absolutely positive that the construction project will have a negative impact on the environment. Although, I live in our town by the airport, just five kilometers away from it, I am used to the noise of landing and departing planes. So, it is not the main problem. The paramount issue, as I mentioned above, is that the extension of the airport will cause the harmful influence on ecology in the future.
To serve the influx of tourists, it will be necessary to build new terminals and runways,
build new roads or modernize the old ones, increase the quantity of buses and taxis, etc.
You can guess that it will cause some negative consequences, such as air pollution.
To sum up, I would like to remind you that our town is famous for its nature and it will be
nonsense if our bodies make a decision in favor of that plan.
