How have you been doing. It has been a few months since we spoke last time. I’ am writing to share you experience of marriage ceremony of my cousin last month.
Last month was wedding ceremony of my elder cousin Raj. Raj lives in Pokhara and his marriage got fixed with his long time girlfriend Priya in Pokhara. Family member and friends gathered at Raj’s house on this monumental day in traditional attire to take part in marriage procession towards bride’s house in Pokhara. Raj was admittedly looking adorable in traditional dress and special car was arranged with floral decoration. Procession continued with music, dance and festivities towards bride’s house which was 2 KM away from groom’s house.
Consequently after 1 hour the procession reached bride’s house where they we were welcomed with snacks and beverages. Wedding ritual started with priest chanting out mantra in front of holy fire. At the end of the ritual, groom tied garland and necklace in bride’s neck. After the formal event all participants had their lunch and bride sat in the car and embarked on journey towards groom’s house. Bride was welcomed at groom’s house with traditional pooja and lighting. Next day we had reception dinner at hotel venue where larger family member and friends were invited.
It was such a memorable experience with color, light and warmth. I would like to invite you next year to attend marriage of another cousin Ram so that you can also have unique experience of Nepalese wedding.
