Dear John,

It’s so good to hear from you. Hope you are doing well. I am glad to know that you will complete your bachelors degree next month. I will certainly help you in making a decision on whether to go to college for your MBA or get a job. I would suggest that in your case, it is better to work for sometime because you have been studying ever since your schooling days and I feel this will be a much needed break.

People with Masters in Business Administration(MBA) usually are assigned challenging leadership roles in organizations. Previous work experience would definitely help you in quickly understanding the work and ramp up to your 100% potential. Even while studying MBA, you would come across several subjects that would be better relatable if you already have some kind of prior work experience. Thus accumulating some work experience would be a good idea.

Since you have completed your bachelors degree in computer science stream, I would suggest that you take up roles that are aligned with what you have studied. For example: Software developer, Mobile apps developer etc. The other alternative suggestion for job roles are the one that would directly relate to your MBA program. You can apply for jobs like Business analyst, Associate Project Manager or similar roles.

Hope this is useful for you in taking a decision. I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,

Abhilash
