The line graph illustrates the proportion of Australian labourers in five different industries over the past five decades.
Overall, service remained the highest throughout the entire period. Whereas manufacturing saw a slight dip, the three different workforces of Australia, including agriculture, construction, and mining, however, remained stable between 1962 and 2012.
Looking at the graph in more detail, we can see that, in 1962, service was just over 50% which was higher than any other labourers. After that, it rose dramatically to around 79% and reached its highest position in 2012. Manufacturing saw a slight fluctuation of almost 25% in 2012 to just under 25% in 2000, and later on it started to decline gradually to around 10% in 2012, similar to construction.
From 1962 to 2012, three distinct labour of Australia has remained stable. Mining was the lowest over the fifty years period. Agiculture was third highest at the beginning of the year but started to fall after 1983 and become the second lowest by reaching around 4%.
