The chart shows data on the proportion of the world’s population and the allocation of global wealth across different regions. Overall, it is also clear that wealth is concentrated in North America, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Rich Asia-Pacific, while the regions with larger populations such as China, India, Africa, and Other Asia-Pacific account for a much smaller share of global wealth.

In terms of wealth distribution, North America, Europe, and Rich Asia-Pacific accounted for the largest share of global wealth, despite accounting for relatively small proportions of the world’s population. North America accounted for the largest wealth share, whereas its population share made up about 6%. Similarly, Europe illustrated the largest wealth share, while its population share amounted to 5%. In addition, the proportion of Rich Asia-Pacific accounted for about 25% of wealth share, although the region made up 5% of the global population.

In contrast to these regions, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, China, India, and Other Asia-Pacific had a much larger allocation of the world’s population but possessed a small share of global wealth. Latin America and the Caribbean accounted for 10% of the world’s population and held a slightly higher wealth share than Africa. China and India represented more than half of the global population; their combined wealth share stood at only 5%, while Other Asia-Pacific made up 15% of the world’s population.
