Overall, it was seen that Khan Academy was the most visited educational site by 2017, even though Coursera had a much bigger userbase in the year 2015. Meanwhile, Udacity has constantly been the less popular option among the three.
All three educational sites started with around the same number of users in 2012. From then on, Coursera userbase expanded rapidly, 50 million users in a single year (2013) and then doubled in the next year with over 100 million users in 2014. There was a sharp incline afterwards, peaking at 250 million visitors to the site in 2015. This was highest concurrent userbase recorded in the graph. However, there was gradual decline afterwards.Khan Academy on the other hand had a steady growth throughout the years, making it the most popular educational site by 2017 with around 250 million users, surprassing even Coursera. Udacity also had gradual growth but it was consistently had less visitors than its competitors with only 50 million visitors by 2017.
