Overall, the use of uranium is a partly cyclial process, since some of the element can be re-used. It consists of mining, converting, using it as fuel, removing and then reusing or discarding it.
First, a hole is drilled in the surface to mine the uranium from under the ground. After that, other elements are being added to the uranium, which leads to it`s enrichment, so it can be transformed into U-235 fuel pellets. Around 4 years from that, all of the pallets have been used to powers generators, which produce electricity.
Once the used fuel is removed from the generators, some of it is being re-processed and put back into the electicity generators to utilize it as fuel for a second time.
