Overall, what stands out from the charts is that the highest rate in poverty is observed among single women with no dependent children, while married women with no dependent children are responsible for the smallest rate by poverty. Notably, females are poorer compared to males for all ages, with the biggest difference can be seen in 75-up.
To begin with women in poverty, 54% of singe women with no dependent children live in poverty family, followed by the proportion of single women with dependent children accounts for 26%. The poverty rate is much smaller among married women with both dependent children and no dependent children, with 12% and 8% respectively.
When it comes to poverty rates by age and sex, the smallest differences are observed in under 5 years (around 20%) and 5-17 years (above 15%), with females are relatively poor. There is 5% difference in 18-24 (15% and 20%) and 25-34 (10% and 15%) year old men and women, respectively. Women are relatively poor ( around 3-4%) than men between 35 and 74 years old. Finally, the biggest difference can be ovserved in 75-up years old men(about 6%) and women( approximately 13%).
