The line graph illustrates the percentage shares of five different types of media on the total budget spent on advertizing in France from 2010 to predicted 2040.
Overall, the figure for internet rose sharply and is predicted dominate by the end of the given period, while the television hit a peak by 2020, and projected to drop nearly to its original level by 2040. Meanwhile, radio, magazines, and newspapers exhibit declines troughout the period, which are more dramatic for newspapers.
To begin with, the television started with just over 35% of the total amout, and reached 45% by 2020, whereas the internet spiked from about 3% to over 45%. However, it is predicted that the figure for the television will decline steadily and remain at about 37% by 2040. Regarding the internet, even if it followed and will follow an upward trajectory thoughout the period, the speed of the growth varied over time: from 3% to 15% (12 percentage points) in the first decade, from 15% to 35% (20 percentage points) in the second decade, and from 35% to about 47% (12 percentage points) in the last ten years.
By contrast, all the other categories experienced declines over the period. The magazines is projected to decline from 15% to 2% by 2040, while the radio declined from 10% to jsut over 5% by 2020, and predicted to fall marginally to 9% by 2040. Starting from approximately 35%, the newspapers declined dramatically to 15% by 2030, and the predicitions say that it will drop to 10% by 2040.
