The diagram illustrates how ethanol is produced.
Overall, there are several stages in the cyclic process starting with the growth of plants and trees and ending with the release of carbon dioxide which is then reused in the cycle.
Initially, plants and trees grow with the help of sunlight and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Once mature, the plants are harvested by tractors and sent for pre-processing, where cellulose is extracted.
The cellulose is then sent for processing where sugars are extracted from it. Microbes are then added to these sugars which results in the production of ethanol. Ethanol is used as a fuel source in various vehicles like cars, trucks and planes. Finally, as a result of combustion carbon dioxide is produced which is used by the plants and trees and this keeps the cycle going.
