The line graph presents the population of a country, for three age groups: till 14, 15 to 64 and 65 and above, for every year from 1960 to now, with a forecast to 2040.
Overall, senior population gradually rose and is predicted to follow the same trend 2040, whereas the children’s population is fell and will continue to fall till 2040.
In 1960, about 15% of the total population were aged 65+, their population began to clime starting from 1970 following a steady trajectory. I fell just below 40% in 2020 and is predicted to reach up to 45% by 2040. On the other hand, starting from 30%, the children’s population, aged 14 and below, fell till 1970, where it plateaued around 25% till 1980 and started to fall again with the similar rate till 2000, reaching 15%; after which it started to fall with a much slower rate and is predicted to reach 10% by 2040.
Starting at nearly 55%, the middle aged population experienced some fluctuation and reached 50% in 2020. Its anticipated to read 45%, same figures as the senior population, by 2040.
