The cycle unfolds in three key stages. Solar radiation first penetrates the atmosphere and reaches Earth’s surface, where it is absorbed and re-emitted as heat. This heat is then partially captured by naturally occurring greenhouse gases is such as carbon dioxide and water vapor, which prevent it from escaping into space. When human activity causes concentrations of these gases to rise, a greater proportion of heat is retained, driving a gradual increase in global temperatures.
The solar radiation from the sun reaches the Earth. Of this energy, 51% is absorbed by the Earth’s surface. Meanwhile 20% is scattered and reflected by clouds, 19% is absorbed by the atmosphere and clouds, while 6% is scattered from atmosphere.
As the result Earth’s surface temperature increases by Sun radiation. The part of the heat is emitted back into space, while another part lingers as greenhouse in atmosphere and reflect heat. Consequently, the planet remains warmer enough to support life. On the other side Earth’s atmosphere amount of the greenhouse gases is increased by pollution. As a result, less heat escapes into space and the Earth’s temperature rises further.
