The two maps given illustrate how a particular area has changed from 1965 to the present.
Overall, the urbanization has been experienced, transforming from a deserted village to a contemporary metropolis. Additionally, the key to changes include the installation of more infrastructure and the expansion of residential areas.
To the northern side, in 1965, was dominated by few houses and a tree line, which was situated to the northwest of the map. This dwelling area was located on the opposite side of a river which ran from north to south, bisecting the region. Moving to the present day, the green space of the Assford area has been completely removed to make way for a new car park while a residential area has been upgraded with more houses along the river and apartments due to the citizens’ demand.
In the southern area, there was a road in the past, that crossed the river via a ferry service, as the central section was not fully constructed. Currently, a new road bridge and a footbridge have been built to replace the ferry. Moreover, the area has been developed to include multiple car parks, with one strategically positioned near the footbridge.
