Dear Shaminder,

I hope you are doing well. I’m just writing to you after hearing that, you are interested to buy my television.

I’m selling this television because I’m going to buy new LED for my renovated room. Although the television is quite old, it still works well. I think it may not fit the new design of my room.

This television is black and grey. Its screen is approximately 18 inches, and it was manufactured by Kolkata Television Industry in 2020. Additionally, it supports both cable and antenna input. It also has a USB port for playing music or movies.

I’m completely free next week from my work. You are welcome to visit my home on 1st February. Please let me know if this date is convenient for you, so I can plan accordingly.

Keep in touch,

Jagtar

Task Response

The letter appropriately addresses all parts of the task, providing a clear explanation for selling the television, a description of the television itself, and a suggested date for viewing. The information is relevant and sufficient. To improve, consider adding more detail to the description of the television to make it more appealing or informative. The letter falls short of the required 150 words.

Coherence & Cohesion

The letter is generally well-organized and easy to follow. The purpose of the letter is clear from the beginning, and each paragraph logically progresses the message. However, the transition between the reason for selling and the description of the television could be smoother. Consider using a transition phrase to connect these ideas more explicitly. Also, in the first paragraph, the phrase "after hearing that, you are interested to buy my television" is a bit awkward. Rephrasing it to something like "because I heard you might be interested in buying my television" would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary used is appropriate for the task and conveys the necessary information clearly. However, there's room to enhance the lexical resource by using more descriptive and varied language. For example, instead of saying "it still works well," you could say "it's still in excellent working condition." Similarly, instead of "black and grey," you could use more specific color descriptions or mention the overall aesthetic appeal. Using synonyms and more precise language can elevate the letter's quality.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The letter demonstrates a good command of grammar with only minor errors. The sentence structures are varied and generally accurate. Pay attention to comma usage and sentence flow to further refine your writing. For instance, in the first paragraph, consider revising the sentence structure for better clarity. Overall, the grammatical accuracy is strong.
