Dear family,
As you may know, last week all of us were supposed to attend the family gathering, and unfortunately, I was not able to go as I received an unexpected call of my boss. You all know I have a really demanding work and that my schedule is not as I would like to be like. The thing was that, although I had already reach to an agreement with both my boss and my colleagues about the time I would be spending at the office, just few hours before start preparing myself to meet you all, my boss called and told me he needed my help urgently. Apparently, one of our biggest and most importants guests was asking for specific information, which, of course, as a communication officer, I was the only one with the cappabilities required to inform the guest perfectly about the info he was asking for.
I need to admit that I felt angry rather than dissapointed with myself after accepting going back to work. I know I could have argue with my co-workers, reach to an agreement and let somebody replace me. Furthermore, since I started working for this companie I merely visit or even contact you, so I would be over the moon if you could accept my most sincere apologize and would let myself invite all of you to an special dinner in our favourite restaurant.
This new work is overwhelming and my boss makes things even more compelling. I promise you all this will not happen again.
