Dear Sam,

I am writing this letter to apologize to you because I will not be able to attend your wedding anniversary party on the upcoming weekend.

Unfortunately, my daughter, Riya, is suffering from a severe stomach infection and is currently hospitalized. The doctor said she will be better within the next two days and we can go home then, however, I will have to be home with her throughtout this week.

I would have loved to be a part of your celebration but my husband is also out of town for work, so I cannot leave my daughter alone. I am extremely sorry for not being present on your special day.

Could you please let me know a suitable day in the week after your party? I would like to meet you and Monica at your home, or we can also meet for lunch sometime. Ross will also be back until then and Riya will be feeling better too.
