It is argued that it is better to raise children in the village than to upbring them in the city. I believe that upbringing them in the city would be the better choice because it facilitates the access to education and health facilities, however, villages offer healthy environment for the children.
Some argue that raising the children in the remote places can help them have a healthy living atmosphere due to absence of pollution caused by running vehicles and garbage everywhere. In fact, the greenery offered by remote region cannot be traded for hustling and bustling city life and children grow up to calm and peaceful adults in such surroundings. For example, according to a recent research done by Oxford University, the children who spent their early childhood in the country side are found to be less aggressive compared to those who lived in the cities. Despite this, these children grow up to be lacking the exposure to different facilities available in the cities.
On the other hand, the urban centres offer unlimited access to education and health facilities. In fact, the major educational institutions and big hospitals are found in the cities. Therefore, the children can grow up to be well educated and healthy adults in the future. These infrastructures are hardly available in the country side and people often require to travel far to the cities to avail these facilities. For instance, in India, 70 % of big schools are built in the major cities and the rural areas have hardly such benefits. For this reason, the children brought up in the cities become more successful in their careers by the virtue of availability of these facilities.
In conclusion, even if living in the country side helps the children to benefit more of the natural and pure environment during their upbringing, the city life contributes them to have better and easy access to schools and hospitals leading them to be more successful and healthier in the future.
