Many people argued that learning from academic books is more important for children, whereas the others think that reading entertaining books has the similar importance for the kids. In this essay, I will discuss both views, and in my opinion, both categories of books are equally important for the development of the children.
As students, the children at the school age has such an obligation to learn from books related to the subjects they study in order to support their understanding on the knowledge required. Of course, this will help them to achieve high marks for any exam that be undertaken. The more the academic books they read, the more valuable information that they can grab. Furthermore, the student can have more upgraded competency about any particular subject which can be beneficial for their academic life during the school period. However, if the children only focus only on the school books, they may deal with boredom or overfullness on the subject matters.
In terms of avoiding the boredom, the children should also be encouraged to read books which are aimed for fun. Some entertaining books are proven to be able to drive the body in producing the endorphin, a kind of hormones which is released when someone is happy. By having more endorphin in the body, it can stimulates the production of endorphin which brings an advantage for the psychological development, especially for those who are in the golden age. Moreover, reading books for entertain may help the children to develop some skills, such as communication. They can learn find new vocabularies which they might not find on the academic books. Therefore, it is also important for the children not to focus only the books regarding to the school subjects as they can benefit from other type of books.
In conclusion, gaining knowledge from educational books are required for the children to support their competency in the school, however, entertaining books has the similar importance which can be beneficial for them to reduce the boredom and to have more skills. Furthermore, children must be encouraged not only to focus on the literatures on the educational purposes, but also to the others outside academic life.
