There are theories which summarizes that the oil resources around the globe will run out in near future. Therefore, I think we must spend on renewable resources of energy because they are environmentally friendly and require less maintenance.
Although oil is a popular source of energy in generating electricity, to run the vehicles, and in various industrial sectors; however, it are not cost effective and pollutes the environment. The oil based systems need a continuous investment after installation and maintenance can also be expensive. Moreover, they emit harmful chemicals that pollute the atmosphere. Sometimes the emitted substances can be fatal. For example, petrol vehicles need a continuous refilling depending on its mileage and emit harmful chemicals, which are depleting the ozone layer.
On the other hand, shifting our systems on renewable resources, such as wind and solar panels can overcome these problems. They are considered as one time investment, because they require less maintenance compared to oil based systems. As we are using the resources that are very common in nature and don’t require any cost for extraction, therefore, these resources will be cost effective. Another advantage is that they do not contribute to the pollution on a commercial scale. We don’t have a single complain against solar energy for contaminating the Earth. For example, electricity generated using solar panels is very affordable and it does not have any adverse affects on the mankind.
In conclusion, I agree with the fact that we must have to pay more attention to the renewal resources, because oil is getting precious and contaminates the environment.
