Without a doubt, the aviation has had a dramatic development. It is obviously that air travel consumes a large number of fuel resources and causes damage to the environmental pollution. Consequently, some individuals hold the belief that the restriction should be imposed on the aviation. Personally, I partly agree with the viewpoint for the reasons as follows
On the one hand, the high number of flights have detrimental impacts on the air pollution. An airplane consumes a larger amount of petroleum than other means of transportation. Therefore, the more fossil fuel consumed, the more pollution the environment will be suffered. Traveling by airplane can emit some noxious fumes such as carbon dioxide, oxides, nitrogen and other pollutants into the atmosphere, exacerbate climate change and air quality degradation. In addition, air travel has also taken a heavy toll on the noise pollution, especially for those living in the neighbourhood of an airport or around the flight paths. Noise problems created by aircraft are uncomfortable and headache. More seriously, overusing of aviation fuel can contribute to resources depletion and environment destruction
On the other hand, it is essential to acknowledge the pivotal role of air travel plays in contemporary society. It creates favourable condition for international trade, tourism, business, fostering economic development and cultural exchange. Restricting air travel can impede global connectivity and hamper economic growth. Moreover, technological advancements, such as development of sustainable aviation fuels and improvements in aircraft efficiency, offer promising avenues to mitigate the environmental impact of air travel without restriction
In conclusion, although air travel undeniably poses significant environmental challenges, it can increase gross domestic product, save time and make people more comfortable when travelling. By promoting eco-friendly alternatives, and encouraging responsible aviation practices, people can strive towards a future where air travel is both sustainable and essential for global connectivity
