The government should provide free education and healthcare services to citizens. I agree that these basic needs must be free in all countries, and there must be proper utilization of the system.
Many people in our society are very destitute and cannot afford education and healthcare facilities. To support these poor people, the government must implement many monetary and non-monetary services for citizens. Furthermore, free education encourages parents to send their children to school, especially in developing countries. Developed countries fund their education system from top to bottom so that every resident receives a proper education and supports the country in the future. Furthermore, although the government allocates a significant amount of money in its budget to support education and healthcare systems, citizens receive a higher return. Educated people can modify government policies and pay taxes to the government. In addition, older people benefit from free healthcare that eases the burden on the young generation. For example, many young adults must take care of their parents because of a serious illness, which impedes their career plans. If the government reserves funds, young people can focus on other jobs.
In spite of many advantages, providing free education requires significant monetary support from the government to society, which cannot be ensured without taxpayers’ money. As people are entitled to receive free government services, they have to pay lawful taxes to the government. By doing this, the system will run automatically, and a smooth flow of money can be ensured into the government fund. For example, there are several misuse cases regarding higher study government funds in the UK. Many students withdrew their allocated funds and utilized in other sources instead of studying, and banks have to offset those funds a non-refundable fund.
In conclusion, while free education and healthcare services offer many advantages, the government should provide them when citizens utilize those funds in a proper way.
