Some people believe that fathers should have a chance to participate in their childrens’ upbringing, and can be released from work occasionally. I firmly agree with that concept, due to the significance of their support given to the mothers.
It is known that in the process of making baby two people are involved, and in the future they should be obliged to look after their child in a proper way equally. Therefore, fathers by taking part in parenting create more balanced family dynamics and promotes emotional bonding. For example, in European countries, such as Norway and Sweden, where the government enable fathers to time off from work, and according to their statistics the rates of the involvement of fathers into family life are higher and more stable families take a place in these countries. Furthermore, when fathers participate in childcare, mothers have less stress and can recover more quickly, which contributes increase in mental and physical health of both parents.
Moreover, when mothers need to take off from work after hiving birth, employers perceive that them as less reliable and reinforcing gender disparity. When both parents have a right to parental leave, they will share the difficulties of childcare equally, and a career interruption due family will become a normal rather than female-one issue. Over time, it will help to close gender gap and reduce stereotypes toward women.
In conclusion, I consider the idea that all fathers should be entitled to time off from work, because of family. The policy will benefit not only mothers, but overall society as well.
