In order to attract customers, large companies frequently provide local neighbourhoods with sportsgrounds or arrange various events for people for free. Personally, I approve such ideas, due to the positive impact of volunteering on the society. Therefore, the businesses might get greedy and ask for some fees for the local community to get access to their facilities.
Many people believe, that if one does some deeds for the public good, they will not be forgotten. That is why the companies or public figures, who can afford that, tend to use such strategy and improve community’s quality of life by donating some facilities as an act of self-promotion. The examples can be investing in some youth centres, renovating playgrounds, buying and installing new windows for old houses, fixing some piece of road, which was ruined by time and rain etc. Such volunteer work will remind users of its author and make a good impression about the company and its authorities.
However, many businessmen are greedy and do not wish to lose their money, even though they already have enough. Instead, they find building new malls, business centers and fitness clubs more appealing. They seek for new ways of multiplying their income by making locals pay them, and not vice-versa.
In conclusion, as a large company, being kind and generous to the people around and providing them with what is needed for free, will cause a positive influence on potential customers. Not only it will support the local community, but also promote the company in general. In contrast, those without the will of sharing might see the negative affect on their business.
