At the present era, whether to teach students different skills in school or having series of subject is better for students has sparked much debate. Some parents assert that children should only learn variety of subjects for their future, whereas, many other argues to give children opportunity to learn skills. Personally, I am in the favor of latter view.
Convincing arguments can be made that teaching different skills in school can be beneficial for pupils. To start with there are some variety of skills for example communication skill, leadership’s skill, time management etc. which schools can teach to students to help them flourish their future. For instance, in corporate sectors, nowadays, people with good communication skill has higher chances to get selected for job then the person with low communication skills. Similarly, leadership skills and time management skills are also essential part of job life. These skills standout an individual from others.
On the other hand, it is also appropriate to give education on range of subjects. The reason for this is not all children are competent enough to acquire extra academic activities, therefore, this can affect their performance in school subjects. However, the reality is that in modern-day society these skills are needed in different stages of life.
Having considered both the views, I conclude that skills with academic knowledge has overriding impact on children. It would be difficult to include such skillful subjects in regular syllabus, but, I would suggest that schools should have proper plan to balance both the forms of education.
