One school of thought holds that banning all forms of promoting is beneficial to society due to its uselessness and possibly causing unwanted loss to people. In my perspective, I strongly agree with this statement because of the following reason.
Advertisements mostly provide unverified and misleading information to people. Companies always exploit laws loophole in order to create unrealistic, attractive features of their products to increase their profit. As a result, these information misleads customers, leading to thoughtless decisions and buying goods serving nothing to their needs. For instance, diamonds are advertised as a precious material presenting to a truly forever love. But in fact, they are more common than golds and standing for no purposes, these are just marketing gimmicks in order to push the price higher and gain more revenues.
Additionally, promoting products can have detrimental effects on teenagers and children. They are tricked by colorful, shiny look and made-up features, leading them to do anything to get the merchandises. As a result, they can become immoral humans and get themselves into problems. For example, most of them can bully, rob and commit the crimes in order to have enough money to buy their desired goods.
In conclusion, a ban on promoting products should be brought in to prevent the increase in crime and save immature ones to become a good citizens.
