Studying abroad or doing a work placement should be in all university undergraduate courses. Although exchange programs can be hard for students, I believe that the benefits of this trend considerably outweigh its drawbacks.
The most significant disadvantages of sending students to another country or giving an opportunity to practice is that it can put them under the pressure. Therefore, it can influence to their mental stability causing depression or stress. Because of a lack of close people, and facing new culture it can be difficult to adapt for young individuals. For instance, most people studying abroad return to their homecountries without finishing their programs.
On of the main advantages of trend is that it gives them additional support after finishing an university. Both exchanging knowledge abroad and doing a work placement can prepare students for their future jobs. Moreover, it gives them a chance to feel atmosphere of their professions, and gain an experience. For example, it is a great opportunity for future doctors, they can practice and communicate with real patients in hospitals. They will have an idea what to expect from patients, if universities provide this type of courses.
In conclusion, many people assume that every university undergraduate course should include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement. Even if this type of courses can put students under the pressure, in my opinion, the advantages of this trend considerably outweigh its disadvantages because it can be really helpful in their future work.
