It is believed that all bachelor programmes at universities ought to include internship and student mobility prgrammes. I am of the opinion that there are more benefits than drawbacks as such opportunity will expand any student’s future peospects.
On the one hand, these programmes might be expensive for private universities since it includes expenses for additional deprtments and salaries for people who will carry out this responsibility. In other words, assistance with transfer documents and search for potential foreign partners and organisations requires seperate funding. There are people who must be paid to fulfill these tasks for assisting young adults with applications for admission as well as working through visa processing stage, and at the same time to keep in contang with foreign colleagues.
On the other hand, this trend will definitely benefit students: it provides them with a chance to explore foreign country and educational system, it also makes possible to expand networking and gain international experience. For example, in Kazakhstan, students who have had this opportunity usually end up workingg for foreign companies, or moving to study Master’s degree abroad. These students learn to communicate in different languages with people of various backgrounds, build connections in foreign settings. Thus, once they finish this programme they often tend to become more confident in their skills after living for a couple of month far from home, they feel ready for the big world.
In conclusion, a semester studying abroad programmes may come at certain costs, however, the benefit that university students obtain from that is immense.
