Letting people dress informally at work on selected days of the week can lead workers to take their jobs carelessly. Every worker should wear smart clothes on working days. I partly agree that clothing can affect people’s behavior during work hour while classic outfits can be uncomfortable for holders of a certain profession.
Clothing is an important factor in how a person behaves. For workers who meets clients, outfit plays a crucial role. For example, administrators should wear uniforms to gain customers’ respect, as customers may feel that they are not equal to a person who looks professional. Also, casual clothes are so comfortable that it can lead workers relax too much which can effect on company’s productivity because it will change their attitude towards deadlines and responsibilities. However, relaxed clothes can increase employers’ creativity and create a friendly atmosphere.
On the other hand, there are some workplaces where you can’t wear professional clothes. Workers who sits in the IT department in front of computer all day can be a great example for this. They will sit in their cabinets or even work remotely without being in contact with clients, so they don’t have to dress smartly. Furthermore, some jobs like cleaner, engineer and factory worker can be dirty, so they do not require wearing formal outfits.
In conclusion, workplaces should require employees to follow a dress code that aligns with their role. If they work with clients, they should wear smart attire to maintain respect, if not, they can wear something that is both comfortable and enhances creativity.
