Some people argue that allowing employees to wear casual clothes causes them to take their work less seriously and that professional attire should therefore be compulsory throughout the working week. Although the way people dress can influence their behaviour to some extent, I disagree that all employees should be required to dress formally every day.
There are some reasons why casual clothes are beneficial for employees. One of them is that, it helps people to work better and feel less stress because casual clothes bring them more comfort. For instance, if someone has to work for a long time, they can be more focus because they can move freely. In contrast, wearing smart clothes will restrict their movements since a lot of them are made of polyester and it also requires many layers when wearing smart clothes.
Although casual clothes bring many benefits for workers, in some cases it depends on the situation, it can also bring drawbacks. When meeting clients, clothes can affect how the work is perceived. If you wear a t-shirt and shorts, clients would think that you are not respecting them and also you are less reliable compare to wearing smart clothes.
In conclusion, wearing casual or smart clothes depends on how the workers see them and they need to choose proper clothes to wear depend on the situations at work.
