In today’s workplace, acquiring skills such as computer literacy has become a major requirement for adults. While many individuals believe that these skills are acquired with the guidance of a teacher ,others argue that adults can develop their computer skills independently . This essay will discuss both sides of the argument, but in my opinion , learning with the guidance of a teacher is more effective way for adults to improve their skills.
By contrast learning new skills with the guidance of a teacher can be beneficial for adults . The main reason is that teacher can provide immediate feedback and guidance during the learning process and they can explain difficult concepts, identify mistakes and improve learners’ weaknesses. For example, when newly recruited employees join a company, they may need to learn new computer systems and software with the guidance of a trained instructor. Hence ,learning with an instructor can help adults develop their skills more effectively.
By contrast , many individuals argue that learning new skill effectively by themselves . This is because self-study allows them to choose a suitable time pace according to their individual needs. They can use online resources, repeat difficult lessons and practice whenever they have free time . For instance, a newly recruit employee who needs to improve their computer skills can use online tutorials to learn programming such as Microsoft Teams after work . Therefore, self-study provides flexibility and self-confidence. I believe that learning skills with guidance of a teacher is more effective.
In conclusion, although independent learning provides greater flexibility, learning with guidance of a teacher offers valuable support and immediate feedback. Therefore, Adults should continue developing their skills through appropriate guidance. While also using independent learning resources.
