It is argued that harnessing energy from alternative energy sources, such as wind, waves, and sun is pricey and difficult compared to fossil fuels. Personally, I disagree with this this opinion as alternative energy sources can be both efficient and cheap to use.
Admittedly, alternative energy sources are costly. The power stations that generate the energy by using wind turbines, solar panels, or nuclear plants are innovative and are built of rare metals. A good example of this is a nuclear power station that costs up to 30 billion dollars. Moreover, they have to be monitored by specialists. This means that the government has to additionally allocate large sums on educating specialists of this new energy field. Consequently, harnessing energy from natural sources mat not be suitable for majority of nations.
However, it is important to consider the counterargument that it is relatively efficient. Renewable energy sources can supply humanity with more energy compared to fossil fuels. In other words, they can generate more energy, requiring little amount of raw sources. Therefore, they can cover the expenditures needed for both it’s construction and support in a short-term. Furthermore, there are international organizations that offer free education along with programs for increasing qualification of employees of this field. By promoting these programs, the government can greatly decrease its spendings I n qualifying workers of this field. For instance, the international program “Tech Girls” offer free education on recent innovations of green energy production.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree that renewable energy sources are expensive and complex. Although they may require large sums for its construction as well as for its functioning, these expenditures can be easily as these green power stations work efficiently.
