To begin with, nowadays it is almost impossible to find a career in the nearest city due to the overly concentrated job market. Therefore, most individuals have to travel to another city or sometimes even to a foreign nation. For instance, most of the Sri Lankans are made to work in Dubai due to unemployment. People are made to move away from their families without giving them to have a second thoughts. Additionally, the increase in the living cost has influenced the society to live in small family units. The expenses are unbearable for middle income families thereby they are automatically prevented from family expansion.

Nevertheless, this trend has both pros and cons. The tend of living solo leads to social isolation and reduction in family bonds. Most individuals only travel back to their families during holidays, which can be for a few days per year or even none at all. Therefore, the separation leads to a reduction in the strength of bonds within relations and families. Furthermore, this can result in a reduction in social connections. This separation from families and home influences homesickness, resulting in mental fitness issues. On the other hand, this strain increases the strength of the labor force and the number of skilled professionals for a particular job, as applicants are willing to work even, they are in different countries.
