In the contemporary world, spreading the use of some dominant languages is exchanging local languages which is becoming an increasingly common part of the life. While this trend undoubtedly brings people closer together, I strongly believe that its drawbacks outweigh its benefits.
On the one hand, the widespread use english has created enormous advantages in today’s interconnected world. First of all, it allows to better global communication. Students who master english can access to international universities and cutting-edge academic resources. It can increase their academic performance. As a result, english serves as a bridge can connects individuals and nations, promoting corporation.
However, this linguistic dominance poses serious problems to cultural identity. When language is prioritised over local languages, younger generations may lose their abilty to speak in their native language. Consequently, it couse to loss of traditions, being crucial part of each country. Furthermore, this global shift lead to inequality in society. Citizens who do not speak dominant languages may not have higher academic promotion.
In conclusion, although the global languages can make communication more convenient, loss of cultural identity and diversity is still crucial for each country.
