There is a common belief that watching television can help students study effectively; therefore, this method should be encouraged for children at home and at school. Personally, I disagree with the idea that children should watch TV extensively. I believe it would be better for children to learn using a controlled screen timetable.
On one hand, watching TV can be an effective way for children to learn due to its benefits. First of all, there is a wide variety of educational resources available for children. For example, science programs and historical channels can enhance students’ knowledge about nature, culture, and the history of their countries. In fact, today’s television offers an array of channels, providing children with more options to choose from. Additionally, studying through television can be more convenient and engaging than traditional learning methods.
On the other hand, I believe that students should not watch television too much, both at home and at school. First, excessive TV watching without a fixed schedule can lead to negative influences from what they watch. The more time they spend in front of the screen, the more they may develop an addiction to television. This issue often arises from parents not monitoring their children’s screen time appropriately, which allows them to watch TV too early and too often. As a result, children tend to imitate and be influenced by the information they encounter on screen. Furthermore, excessive television viewing can hinder their ability to keep up with school curriculums, ultimately leading to a decline in their academic performance.
In conclusion, while children can benefit from watching television to enhance their studies, it is crucial that they do so with parental permission and adhere to a controlled schedule, rather than watching it indiscriminately.
