Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 5+: Children have more and more tests and exams to do at school, sometimes starting from the age 5 or 6, right up until age of 18. What are the advantages and disadvantages of making children do exams?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, you can notice that every school takes exams regularly from students to check, how the understood the last lessons. In this essay, I will discuss pros and cons of taking exams.

Let’s start our discussion from adventages. It is believed that, the more taking exams from pupils will force them to do their best to learn and achieve high scores from subjects. Due to exams, you can recognise, how well the lesson was explained to you. And If you had fail, you would have a chance to be explained and taught again by teachers.

What I have just mentioned, there are also disadventages of making exams. First of all, the students can play a truant cause of illness, so there is no doubt that the student will not be able to pass it. Parents will definitely get annoyed after recieving their child’s bad mark. What I mean by this is that, teachers should firstlyask each student “Can they write it well, otherwise she must to repeate the theme one more time. Secondly, we all knowthat all teachers of every sshool prefer not to inform about exam one day before. Inspite of this, they choose to give the exam list at this point. What I always find it really unfair, not only me but all pupils. This kind of situations always make us feel anxious. For Instance, we will begin to get stressed of thinking about levels of how hard the test would be. To my mind, it effects negatively to our mental health, especially it can lead us to increasing the stress level. The only one solution is that, teachers should warn us that we will be checked by exams earlier and tell us that we have to come to the lesson well prepared.

In conclusion, I want to say that taking exams is the good option for checking knowledge of students. However, they have not to give such hard materials for us.
