There are many people who believe that children should participate in organized pursuits in their leisure time, while others think that young people should choose the activity that they want to do. In this essay i will discuss both opinions and elaborate why i agree with the former to a certain extent.
On the one hand, allowing children to make decisions about what they want to do in their leisure time with the forcing of others can be beneficial. To clarify, this can generate for children private spaces to understand themselves, from then they can explore new interests or talents, which provide them the sense of fulfillment.
On the other hand, I still believe that children should be encouraged to take part in organized activities for several reasons. First of all, through some organizational pursuits such as volunteering or workshops, children can acquire planning skills or communication skills, which would be necessary for them to gain sufficient jobs in the future. Furthermore, sometimes free activities seem harmful to the young generation. To be specific, because youth is really easily attracted by additional content, as a result, allowing freedom to choose activities in their leisure time can waste their time, when children spend a lot of time surfing the internet or playing games without appropriate purposes.
In conclusion, although allowing children to decide what they want to do in free time can stimulate them to find new hobbies, it also wastes children’s time. So the youth should take part in organization activities to achieve different skills.
