Some people believe that higher education can ensure a great job, while others argue that having a practical knowledge and skills are more valuable for getting a good job. In my opinion, having useful knowledge and practical skills is much more important for employment.
On the one hand, some people choose to get a bachelor’s degree or another form of higher education. They are convinced that a university diploma can open many doors and provide a stable life. When an employer is looking for new employees, they often pay attention to education. Working in large companies usually requires a diploma or another document proving a person’s education. There are also many professions where higher education is essential. For instance, to become a doctor, people have to study for around eight years. Since doctors work with people’s lives, their education is extremely important.
On the other hand, some argue that skills and work experience play a more significant role in getting a job. People without higher education can become successful entrepreneurs if they complete online courses and gain relevant experience.Practical skills are in high demand in many industries. There are also many professions where a university degree is not required, such as the beauty industry or trade. In these fields, employers focus more on a candidate’s skills and experience rather than their formal education.
To sum up, while both views have merits, l firmly believe that people without higher education but with work experience and practical knowledge can be more desirable candidates, whereas those with higher education but no experience may only have theoretical knowledge.
