With the development of modern society, alike commodities are increasingly used due to its ease of purchase, leading to a great deal more similar among countries. While numerous benefits stemmed from the soaring in the number of comparable products cannot be overlooked, those drawbacks appear to overwhelm, potentially causing a cascading effect on purchasers, organizations, and countries.
A striking factor giving beneficial aspects to all three entities, particularly individuals consuming products, organizations that own products, and nations which are superior in scale unit, is reducing rates of monopolization. In terms of consumers, these individuals can access products with lower prices, gaining benefits from a diversity of advertising campaigns. To be specific, due to the fact that businesses necessarily launch multiple campaigns to obtain benefits during the competition which provides similar goods to different buyers, a multitude of promotional programs, including vouchers, promotions, given to their purchasers. Regarding organizations, these are able to compete positively and legally against other suppliers, thereby, stronger and longer-term relationships among sellers are created, leading to reduced intermediary fees. Moving to national scale, countries can boost their national economy since corporations either develop competitively or fall behind and face financial difficulties, even worse, bankruptcies.
However, I am convinced that that the excessive drawbacks of growth in the number of comparable products prevail over its benefits. Seemingly, the decreasing of benefits accompanied by the rise of drawbacks according to how great the scale is, commencing with smallest units, such as organizations, and eventually extending to countries. Businesses appear to lose autonomies to determine the future path of their brands owing to the fact that abilities to control the commercial market belong to consumers. Moreover, development in the tourism industry might decrease, as people find their desired products in nearby supermarkets, therefore don’t necessarily have to search for those by travelling to foreign countries.
In conclusion, although the increasing tendency of retailing similar products in dissimilar country had offer certain benefits such as lowered rates of monopolization, I believe that its drawbacks namely businesses’ autonomy lost, and deterioration of tourism industry should be more highly concerned.
