Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 5+: Demand for oil and gas is increasing, and so finding new sources in more remote places is becoming crucial. The advantages of this situation outweigh the disadvantages.

With the rise in consumption rates for gas and oil, the need to find new sources in places that still haven’t been explored has been brought forward. I am inclined to believe that the health complications and environmental degradation that are a result of oil and gas usage far outweigh the advantages.

First of all, unhealthy levels of air pollution have recently become a significant cause for major health issues, resulting in the loss of countless lives . This means, countries that have faced challenges with air pollutants have come across numerous health concerns among inhabitants, such as breathing issues and headaches, just to name but two. Moreover, as observed in today’s world countries are facing environmental damage due to the exploitation of fossil fuels. For instance, an overpopulated country like the Islamic Republic of Iran has experienced a fast-paced growth in the levels of environmental degradation(25% rise) during the time span of five years.

However, one benefits that countries can gain as a result of their search for these products is the significant amount of economic growth . In other words, countries get huge amounts of contributions to their budget plans by putting their products up for sale in the international market. Nevertheless by getting into the production of devices that require other sources of energy and combats the constant use of oil and gas nations can turn in profit while also earning a positive reputation for their innovation. To illustrate China has gained popularity in the international market by producing electric cars and obtaining a 72% growth in financial revenue.

In essence, the harmful effects of oil and gas overuse outweigh any short term economic development.
