In the modern era, there is wide availability of sports facilities and gyms, but still there are fewer people engaged with fitness than in the past. This can be attributed to several factors, such as sedentary lifestyle and bad habits. However, this can be addressed by educating, promoting awareness, and societal contribution.
One major problem is the increasingly sedentary lifestyle people are following, which is declining the physical exercise in their daily routine. Technological benefits are making people less productive, and they sometimes pass their leisure time playing computer games rather than playing outdoor activities. Therefore, individuals spend most of their time sitting and lying down for work, study, and entertainment. For instance, people use cars, buses, and bikes, even though for shorter destinations they rely on vehicles instead of walking. Another reason is having processed food in daily life. People poor food habits create obesity and weak health. As a result, they become more lazy and inactive, but in the past there was a less sedentary lifestyle than now.
To address these issues, several measures can be taken. Firstly, the government and communities should take steps so that people may do exercise in their busy schedules. For example, many companies can provide 10-minute breaks during their office time so their employees can do physical activities or make a gym space where they can do exercise. And the government can organize many campaigns to educate them about the awareness of physical exercise and the food’s nutritional benefits.
In conclusion, sedentary habits and unhealthy diets are the main reasons for declining fitness, but these issues can be solved through awareness, institutional support, and better urban planning.
