Band 6+: Despite knowing the dangers of environmental pollution, many people continue to make daily choices that harm the environment. Why do people behave this way? What measures can be taken to encourage more environmentally friendly behavior?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Although some people understand that they damage the environment, individuals continue to make decisions which lead to environmental pollution. This is mainly due to unawareness of consequences and a lack of Tresh boxes; measures such as fines and conduct events that are related to environmental conservation.

There are several compelling reasons why many people keep going make choices that directly damage the environment. First and foremost, despite the fact that a lot of people know that they bring dangers to the environment, they don’t know the consequences of environmental pollution. In other words, humans aren’t aware of the future with environmental pollution. To illustrate, one of the most popular scientists in the world, Brunson James, made a survey related to what type of issues environmental pollution may bring. The conclusion demonstrates that a large proportion of people did not realize that upcoming events such as climate change and respiratory diseases would result from environmental pollution. In addition, a lack of infrastructure too may a be a reason for people’s daily choices. A lot of people throw trash in the ground instead of trash boxes. This stems from the fact that many parts of the world have insufficient amount of trash boxes. For example, China is regarded as the most populous country with 2 billion of people. Obviously, this a large number of local people there and the Chinese government struggle to shortage of trash boxes. That is why China produces a huge percent of whole environment pollution. However, there are two crucial measures that may cope with environmental pollution. First and most obvious, integrating taxes may restrict the opportunity of people to throw rubbish. In other words, before making an action that bring harm to environment, individuals will think about illegal dumping, and it probably will stop them. For instance, Kazakhstan has integrated taxes to people who throw a rubbish in recent years. If citizens of Kazakhstan decided to throw a trash in a prohibited place, cameras recorded it and then fined him 10 percent of his income. As a result, the level of environmental pollution decreased dramatically over a few years. Moreover, adding environmental campaigns may raise public awareness. In other words, people will comprehend the harmful effects of pollution and explore how to dispose of waste properly. For example, centers of education such as universities and schools or governments organize clean up events in parks or streets. Therefore, less rubbish will be left in public places which will make cities much clearer.

To conclude, although people understand that they damage the environment, they don’t have consequences for it and also a lack of infrastructure too may be a reason for environmental pollution and organize clean up events and integrate taxes could support to make cities clearer.
